WSOP Announces Live Circuit Series Schedule for 2022-23; July Online Series Also Gets Started

The World Series of Poker recently announced the traveling live circuit tour for 2022-2023. Starting in July, the WSOPC includes 25 stops for the new season.

“The World Series of Poker is back with the Circuit returning in just short of a month,” WSOP Senior Vice President and Executive Director Ty Stewart said in a news release. “With record-breaking attendance so far this summer, we expect a huge response to the full-scale return of our regional mid stakes tour.”

WSOPC back in action

The 18th season of the WSOP circuit kicks off at Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma this month. Most tour stops start on Thursdays and conclude with a $1,700 Main Event.

Buy-ins generally range from $250-$5,300. Each stop awards at least 12 championship rings. 

A lot of familiar stops are included on the schedule including Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina, California

“I always look forward to the Florida WSOP Circuit in February every year,” New Jersey poker player Joseph Samero says. “Any chance to escape New Jersey in the dead of winter is a win for me.”

Many casinos will be familiar to players on the Circuit. There are also a few new stops as well including:

  • Harvey’s Lake Tahoe (Stateline, Nevada)
  • Caesars Southern Indiana (Elizabeth)

Tournament of Champions returns

The WSOP also announced that the Tournament of Champions will be back in 2023. This is a freeroll only for all 2022-23 bracelet and circuit ring winners, live or online. 

Series organizers have released limited information for the events. Stay tuned to USPoker for more information about new stops and TOC information. 

July Online Circuit Series kicks off

Along with the new circuit schedule, WSOP.com is also hosting an Online Circuit Series through July 17. The site showcases 12 championship ring events with more than $1 million in guaranteed prizes.

This series is open to the shared player pool in the Nevada markets. The highlight is the $525 Main Event, set for July 17 with a $200,000 guarantee.

Separate from this series, online poker players in Pennsylvania and Michigan have their own ring series to check out as well.

New Jersey/Nevada

No Limit Hold’em will be the main game in the Online Circuit Series. A lone Omaha tournament is the exception and a few highlights include:

  • $215 Deep Turbo (Event 3, July 8) – $50,000 guaranteed
  • $320 NLHE 2x Re-entry (Event 4, July 9) – $100,000 guaranteed
  • $1,000 High Roller Six-Max (Event 7, July 12) – $100,000 guaranteed

Pennsylvania

A total of 12 rings are set for Pennsylvania players in July with $270,000 guaranteed. The Online Circuit Series also runs July 6-17 with different guaranteed payouts.

Pennsylvania and Michigan remain “ringed-in” markets. That means players compete only against others in the state and must be located within the state’s borders.

The Pennsylvania $525 Main Event features a $50,000 guarantee. Here’s a look at the complete series.

One last opportunity to get into $1 million Tournament of Champion 

This series offers the last chance for online players to get a seat into the Tournament of Champions on July 18.

The $1 million freeroll event is set for one day after the last online circuit event this month. The event takes place in Las Vegas as the final event on the WSOP summer schedule.
